Nearly 20,000 2014 Acura MDX sport utility vehicles are being recalled. Acura’s parent company, Honda, says a handful of bolts attaching the propeller shaft to a universal joint may have been improperly installed. The concern is that the bolts could loosen and cause the propeller shaft to unattach from the vehicle, potentially causing a crash. The recall affects 19,197 vehicles. Honda started notifying owners earlier this month. The company says it knows of no injuries or accidents caused by the issue.
The MDX is a contender for 2014 North American Truck of the Year. The honor will be bestowed next month.
